That probably sounds more like something in the eh, hem... adult store than a knife. :foot: :p

This one is going to Texas with Angi and I.

IF I was a good photographer then I'd apologize for the quality of these, but since I'm a pretty crappy photographer, they're right on par with my skills ;)

11.5" X 2" of 52100 VERY thinly ground and tapered
180-ish layer twist damascus fittings (line cut and fluted "ferrule" spacer)
domed 416 pin
Ironwood BURL handle

This is not a camp knife. This is a reach out and do some serious damage knife. Angi joked that it feels like you could whack somebody's arm off with it. I haven't weighed it yet, but it's very light for such a big bastard (IMHO)

Thanks for looking!!!

Also I would like to publicly thank John White and Russ Andrews as they have both been very helpful lately when I was having some sticking points. Amazingly generous and gracious men... especially considering their status in the knife world!!! :)

(I never did a domed pin until a couple weeks ago when John White told me how he does it... this is the second one) :)

So nice to see this much of your work.

Great looking fighting Bowie put my name in the box:D

Ooooh, so cool! The ferrule alone would be worth the trip to San Antone. Looks light enough to float above the table.

John

Thanks guys! :) BTW- It looks like there's some JB Weld left by the guard in one of those close-ups... Which is REALLY WEIRD since I don't put JB Weld in there anymore! ;)

DANG! You make a pretty knife. Is that a J hook by the choil? :) HA HA just kidding the fit and finish is flawless. Great job.

I KNOW Nick understands how to build a big knife and make it light and fast. Wish I could get to wave this one around like a maniac.

It's rainin' Wheelers ! :)
Great knife, just love it !
Fantastic guard ferrule arrangement.
Thanks for sharing, Nick !

I'm gonna have to stop telling people you're not a knifemaker anymore.

this knife's motto should be 'reach out and touch someone'.
Don't wanna sound like a cheerleader here, but DAMN!:thumbup::thumbup:

Nick Wheeler for president!:D

Angi must make a really stout cup of coffee. You're NOW a venerable production house!

Once you unclogged the dam (:p), the water is flowing clearly.

Best,

Coop

Just beautiful.

Nick is going to remember this. The last time we actually saw each other was in Reno, and I had him pick up a Harvey Dean piece. It looked huge, but was super light and fast. This reminds me a lot of that piece.
