On my trip back home from the MKA Show I spotted an outside flea market so I decided to take a look around. I spotted a bunch of old farm equipment and among that junk was this full rack of buggy springs. These springs followed me home. I forged this little bowie out of a piece of one of the springs. The blade is 9 3/4" and 15" overall. The guard was forged from a piece of buggy wheel. I also picked up a good supply of local stag. Believe the crown I used on this knife is mule deer.

very Kewl Ray!!! looks like it was a good stop for you. nice looking knife. good thing it was not at the show or I'd have been tempted. I too like the point and also the treatment at the spine. I'm sure you will create an appropriate sheath for it also

Murry, The funny thing about the springs is they were something I have been wanting to find. The knives I enjoy making the most are knives made from something that had a previous life. The dagger blade I did at the demo I gave to a kid that was with his dad at the table across from me. This was the other blade I did during the demo and what it looks like today.

Ray,
Two fine examples:thumbup:,
the "little" bowie you posted first does it for me,though why a 9 3/4" blade
is little eludes me. :p:D
Love the blade shape and how you ground it,the muley crown works nicely to give it that flow.
Great work and thanks for sharing!

Doug
