Hey folks,

While we patiently (yeah right) wait on photos from Blade, I figured I'd post some side by side photos of the SFNO and its first cousin the SOW. I took these by request for a BF member, but I figured everyone would appreciate them since there are more SOWs on the way in this weekend's Ganzaa.

They are of the same thickness, which I believe is 0.22

Enjoy!

Beautiful knife that SFNO, wouldn't mind getting my hands around one of these. Cheers and thanks for photos.

Nice photos. Not to quibble over details but, the SOW is a SFNO variant. Your intro may have been more accurate as 'The SFNO and its first cousin, the SOW'. One generally introduces the King, then the various princelings, the General and then his staff officers, the President and then the VP, etc., etc. On to the knives. Other than the flat grind, the recurve, the flaming red slabs and the Custom Shop price tag, I'd love to get a SOW. No, wait, I'd much rather have a couple of CG SFNO's and with some patience, we should be able to at least order them this year. (W.A.G.) Pete

There is no way to get two SFNO's for the price of a SOW.

I'm pretty sure that Busse will not be taking orders for SFNO's unless it's a custom shop knife and that would be more expensive than the SOW.

Good point, I made the recommended change ... and yes WASH is correct a SFNO these days goes for the price of a SOW (if not more).

Granted, if you buy on the exchange or fleecebay, you'll pay Custom Shop ransom. I assert that the SFNO will return to the Busse Combat site and will be available at a reasonable ( for Busse ) price but, of course, not everyone is willing to wait 'two weeks'. If Jerry's 'New' Production Protocol is still in the threads at the top of this forum, check it out. In addition to introducing new knives, the oldies are being brought back approx 3 years (give or take 2 weeks) after their last release. That puts the SFNO out sometime this year. It may be 31DEC07, not soon. It may be right after the SH1-A. It IS coming back. Have patience and faith. I do. Pete

That would be sweet... 2 SFNO's for the price of a SOW...:D :D
Need to get me some more outlaws:thumbup:

Until Jerry brings the SFNO back to the Busse Combat site, the only people making $ off of them are the collectors and resellers. Surely he hasn't consumed enough Blue Label to forget that for BC to make $ from their own blades, they must sell them themselves at their own site, as they are currently doing with the SS and will do shortly with the SH1-A.
The nay-sayers were saying the similar things about the SH1-A. 'LE only, at least $700 each, etc.' Jerry came back stating that the Anni blade will be a standard offering: CG w/ choice of blade coating and slabs ; LE/Anniversary Edition (DC/G 10) with official Anniv. logo (for significantly more). I am confident that the Natural Outlaw will be re-released just as the Satin Jack and Badger Attack were. Too much demand to let pass by. Probably improved if Jerry comes up with a new handle style, blade coating or milling technique. 'Patience, Grasshopper. All things come to he who waits.' Pete

Well, since I started the thread I'll put my two cents in;

1.) I know for sure (directly from Busse) that there will be no production SF handled knives in the near future (I believe that means at minimum 07, but you can decide for yourself)
2.) The Anniv. knife was voted on and the SH1 came on out on top. Jerry kept it as close to spec as possbile out of respect for the original model.
3.) When the Natural Outlaw line is released again it most likey will have a different handle (as you stated) therefore it won't actually be the "SF"NO, but some other designation.

I think if we are all to follow the Patience Grasshopper example, then we should all just wait and in time all Busse knives will be reintroduced in as production runs (3-5 year runs lets say). Honestly I don't think you'll ever see a SHSH, SHBM, SHBA, SFNO, etc resurface as production runs ... don't get me wrong we'll certainly have more Steel Hearts, Natural Outlaws, and Battle Mistresses, but with different handles (e.g. Fusion, ergo, etc). The only way you'll get your hands on another SFNO or SHSH is as part of a limited custom shop run or a SE anniversary model or on the second hand market - there in lies the genius of Jerry marketing strategy.

If you can find one on the secondary market, I and am sure others dont consider it "custom shop ransom." The last few SFNOs on the for sale forums were snapped up within minutes, and Im definitely willing to pay a considerable amount for one than wait for one from the custom shop.
I agree with BusseCollector, the next SFNO will definitely not be in the same configuration.

I agree with the general thrust of BusseCollectors post. Jerry is unlikely to reproduce any knife exactly. Even the SH1a is different in that it is INFI, not A2. I'm sure there will be more Outlaws, but they won't be SFNOs. Part of the reason that people will pay Busse prices is that they can be resold for a premium. That wouldn't be the case if every couple of years there was another run of SHSHs or SFNOs.

If you want an SFNO, IMO, you'd better expect to find one on the exchange or from the Custom Shop.

In case anyone wanted to see what the SOW ganza knife will look like this is the one I got at Blade. They also had a Blue/black G-10. Think both should be in the ganza, but you never know.

You can send that SFNO my way whenever you're done with it.

Nice pics.
