Spa Treatment Surpassed Expectations

Somewhere around late Feb or early April I sent an old (1994) beat up 110 with a broken tip back to Buck. Today it came back. I was surprised at how well it cleaned up. It looks like a brand new knife. I knew it would get the spa treatment but based on the condition it was in when I sent it off, I couldn't have expected results this good. The best part is, IMO, it is already broken in. I received another 110 as a gift the day after I sent this one in. The new one is quite stiff and much harder to close. I wish I smart enough to take before pics but unfortunately I wasn't. Besides looking brand new, it is sharp.

I'm very happy with Buck and will be looking for a 112 very soon. I think they've hooked me.
Thanks for great service.

edit: as a side note, the blade is date coded 2016. Not that it makes any difference, but before I sent it in I was curious if they grabbed a new blade from the production line or had a bin of blades somewhere in the repair shop. My new 110 is dated 2017. Just the things I wonder about sometimes. Maybe someone else is as weird as me and might want to know.

Congrats and thank you for posting your experience. I'm getting ready to ship an Empress Trio set and an early 124 for some TLC.

I broke the tip off my favorite 119 a few years ago and have been meaning to send it to Buck. This thread motivated me to finally do it, I'll send it in next week.

I've sent in dozens of knives for rebladeing and spa treatments. 1000% satisfied every single time. Buck service has even called the house on occasion to consult with me before moving forward. I cannot say enough about there customer service. Top notch.

I just shipped back my Empress Trio set and a circa 69 Frontiersman/124 for a spa treatment. Should be showing up at Buck today.

I picked up a new Open Season Pro Boning knife the other day that had a small chip of the diamond wood scale broken off from an online vender. I almost returned the knife but have since decided to just keep it I may send it in for repair or I may not. I bought it as a user and may just remove the scales give them both a little sanding to make them match and call it good. I purchased the Open Season Pro boning knife after using a Paklite Elite set over the last couple years I just wanted scales. Love the S30v, edge retention is fantastic.

I've found with the s30v the trick is to never let it get dull. I use it and hit it a lick on a ceramic rod. Its rough to bring one back when it does get dull lol

Got my knives back today, shipped on 5/9. Guess it pays to be a BCCI Life Member! I'm absolutely tickled pink with the way they came back. The Empress Trio knives are beautifully buffed and razor sharp. The 122/124 is the same. It had a heavily chipped blade and was worried too much blade stock would need to be removed but it looks great! Look for pics in tomorrow's SPS.

Bad H,
post some pics when your trio comes back.
I have two E-3 sets I have been pro crasstinatin about sending in.

These weren't in bad shape before I sent them back. Mostly scratches on the blades and dull.
