I hope I haven't asked this question twice. I got bumped off into the first attempt.

What can I purchase inexpensively to cut and use as spacers?

Any help would be appreciated.

A paper cutter works well it cuts nice straight lines
you can pick a small one up at an art supply shop
for cheap.hope this helps:)

You can use sheet metal - brass, copper, nickel silver, steel; micarta; leather; wood; amber; stone... The list is virtually endless. I've never done it but always thought I'd try plain ole cardboard, a kind of apocolyptic handle material... You can use tubing, acrylic plastic sheet, rubber. You get the idea. :)

What Dave said. Just think of what effect and properties you want. I have used aluminum cans, Thin kydex, ABS, PVC, construction paper soaked in spar varnish and on and on. It is really hard to beat the fiber sold in the catalogs for most uses though.
