Spacer question

I just picked up an older 3 line (no date code) 118 in unused condition, it has the spacers between the handle and pommel/guard.

I'm curious, when did Buck discontinue those spacers, and went to just the single one in the guard and pommel?

Late1980 on some models. The rest by 1981. That's a 2/2 from the early 70's. DM

Thanks Dave! Wow early 70's... it's condition is impressive for a 40+ year old knife. The flap sheath also looks unused too.

After looking it up, more specific. If it has a model number 1972-80 and 440c blade.
