Spacers/Liners

Just real fast, do you think it would look weird to have brass liners parallel to the tang, and a brass spacer the same thickness intersecting it at an angle.

I don't think it would look weird, you never know if it will look good until you try it. I say go for it. It might add a little bit of unwanted weight to the blade unless you skeletonize them though, depending on the thickness of the brass you are using. Post pics if you try it.
 
The added weight isn't necessarily bad. Since it is all in the handle it will bring the balance point back and can make fine tip movement easier.

Some of the really old Sheffield bowies/hunters were made with thin brass liners against the tang, though not with brass spacers too.

Yeah, except actually touching. I glued it up yesterday, and if everything turned out all right I will post pics today

Yeah, I think it looks pretty good too. The intersection of the liners and spacers came together alright. Nice job, and good for you trying out something new!
 
That's cool and certainly shows attention to detail. :thumbup: Don't know if that's what you were going for, but it reminds me of a peace symbol.
