Not really. But you know me.
The idea we had was to make my customer a personal carry "Bowie" that he could carry in his home state and be legal at under 5 1/2".
He liked the Spalted Maple and then I talked him into some W2 with this result in mind.
I wanted the black lines induced around the hamon to "dance" with the spalting in the maple.
I even got some nice hamon display on the spine.
416 Stainless take-down assembly.
Perfect balance on this knife and should offer him many years of service.
Hope you guys enjoy!

That is an awesome looking knife Karl. I too would guess the customer will be THRILLED with it!

Beautiful blade & handle combo. I wish that you were bringing to Branson this weekend so I could see it first hand.

Not sure yet, Bill.
They're at least as good as anything I've ever used.
Not sure yet if they are better - but they just might be.
The 60s are definitely a step up. And maybe the 120s as well.
Not enough time with them yet, but I think I'll buy them again.

Nice work Karl. The blade and handle go so well together. One of the most radical hamons I've seen.

Gary, you have no idea how badly I wish I could be there. I'm just spread pretty thin right now and can't be in three places at once.
Since Blade I've been to Missouri and Michigan and am now headed to Minnesota.
I hope you have a great show.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind words.
I also need to thank Larry bailey for supplying the handle material and Don Hanson for putting up with all my "hamon" questions. I just don't leave that poor guy alone.
