Spam

They also sell on Ebay for about that much. Beware though, some of the black oxide coated ones selling for way under retail are rumoured to be hot merchandise.

Darn, I thought we were going to talk about that nasty stuff my Grandmother used to make me eat as a child. I thought that I would finally be able to get those terrible memories of "processed" meat off my chest. ;) :p :D

Spam is gross meat, I eat it whenever I want to suppress my urge to eat for a day. It could be part of a weight-loss diet.

It's sort of like Richard Nixon, the President who won the election easily even though nobody voted for him... at least if you ask 'em now. The Hormel folks don't keep churning out cans of Spam(tm) because nobody's eating it.

I've never had it....I ain't afraid though.

I once read a trivial pursuit card that said SPAM stood for "Spiced Ham" but I always thought it was "Specially Processed Artificial Meatproduct". One of the many aruments I have had with trivial pursuit cards....but in the end you are at the whim of the card, there is no fighting it.

I like it in movies when they don't have license to put the actual "SPAM" name on a can they use the name "SMEAT"

SPAM ! a college kids staple. Fried, cold on a sandwich, when all your money was going for beer spam kept you alive! :)

"Advertising is not allowed on this forum"

I guess I made a newbie mistake. I thought that if you suggested a site that you weren't affiliated with, it wasnt' advertising. I see folks ask "where's a good place to get..." and I see lots of folks jump in with websites or suggestions. I thought I was doing the same. I didn't realize it would bring back those dreaded memories of mystery meat :)
Sorry folks

Hey Mark,

Posting links to product pages for informational purposes (such as: "See on this link that the Tachyon is made of 14-4CrMo steel" or "See on this link that the BM42 comes with both straight and serrated blades") are perfectly fine.

The problem that comes up with your link (link to a buy page, with product name and sale price) was that we don't know if you are affiliated with that site, or if you know someone who would gain by sales associated with the site. No one here wants (or has time) to police that angle. So, only authorized sales, in authorized forums, are allowed.

You made an innocent mistake that many newcomers have made (and many old timers "claim to continue making"). No harm done. Just a little indigestion. ;)

Take care.

Sorry folks

I wouldn't worry about it, mistakes do happen. Just don't ever title a post "turnip greens" :barf:. As long as you stay away from that area we'll be OK. ;) ;)

Hmmmmmmm.....Spaaam.

Don't care what anyone says, spam and rice and eggs ROCK for breakfast and I wasn't even raised in Hawaii.

I make it a habit NOT to eat anything that makes a "Spplort" sound when you dump it out of the can! :D

As a kid, I used to love sandwiches made of fried spam and mayonnaise (Helmann's, of course) on toast. I am actually salivating at the memory!

I liked spam, still do. I voted for Nixon, Kennedy, Regan. Yea I will admitt it. Would vote for Nixon again, Watergate was almost as amusing as Clinton stuff.

I was getting hungry, then I saw that this involved that can stuff:barf: . I wouldn't feed it to my dog!
