Hello everyone. I would like to show you one of the favorite knives of my collection. It is the interpretation of the Sodbuster folding knife by one of the best knife makers in Spain, Pedro Bermudez Cotalero (and my favourite one).

Pedro Bermúdez has his workshop in the small village of Bres in Asturias (north of Spain). He usually makes a traditional spanish folding knife called “navaja de Taramundi” (Taramundi folding knife). The defining characteristics of his works are: good finishes, great adjustments and extremely sharp blades.

Here I show you Pedro working and some of his normal folding knives

Pedro also makes other folding knives, and the sodbuster is one of them. This one I show you has the following specifications:

· 80 mm forged O2 carbon steel blade

· Xc75 steel spring

· 304 stainless steel linners

· The handle is made from holm oak

Thanks for posting! I love the step by step photos of your Sodbuster being built. Really cool and I learned about the Taramundi, another regional European knife I had never heard of.

Jamie, what a thread! I appreciate how much time it took you to put it together, and so many pictures (we love pictures).

Thanks!

Nice. Love the Sodbusters. That one is very nice. Thanks for sharing with us.

Beautiful stuff. Mr. Bermudez is a superb crafstman.

I've spent hours browsing the Spanish makers, in particular some of the offerings of the Aceros de Hispania site. Spain seems to have many regional knife designs, most totally different from the others. Some of the stiletto folders in particular at the A de H site are grail for me.

Thanks, Jaimeab.

That oak is beautiful. The workshop pictures and the what I can only assume are traditional Spanish folders as I've never seen that design before anywhere else are very cool. Thanks for sharing.

A true handmade folder knife from Spain. Good steel and good performance for this honest handmade folder.

Those are lovely patterns and beautiful work. Great pics too

Mi gusta mucho :)

Jaime, que es un gran cuchillo de aspecto !!! También me gusta la de los otros cuchillos. Todos son hermosos !! Yo vivía en España, hace muchos años. Nunca me ha dejado.
