I recently spent some time in Toledo and fell in love with the classic Spanish pocket knife designs . I purchased one like this, but I feel too bad putting it under difficult tasks because the build quality and blade construction can't match the modern production knives. I was wondering if there were any modern knives with Spanish influence that I can pick up. I know of the cold steel espadas and vaqueros. I also have seen the spyderco navaja, but I'm looking for a moderately priced knife that's nicely sized for EDC. Any recommendations?

I EDC Nieto Navaja, nice, slim, rides well in pocket and packs a lot of blate. Although she's a bit less flashy than yours...

I was considering picking one of those up, but in the end decided against it. You're making me regret that decision...

I had hard time resisting her as well- she looks mean but beautiful...

I had a knife shop in my neighbourhood order a few, and (if they get them) should arrive next month. Should you reconsider and decide to buy, I could pick up one for you- and trade it for large Case Sodbuster (should be about the same price, I think). :)

Edit: Recruit- mine doesn't have a lock (slipjoint). I think Acieros de Espana has Navaja de carraca on offer, but I heard some controversy about them...

Take a look at the Muela line of knives. Here is my Muela Navaja. Made in Spain and, IMHO, a lot of knife for the money.

No carraca, but I really, really love my medium Espada from Cold Steel. Heck, it's in my pocket right now!
