I'll be going to Spain in a month or so and I want to avoid any nasty surprises.
Does anybody know anything about Spanish knife laws?
I want to take a couple of knives, but stay within the law. I'm sure there will be no problems with a SAK (the standard non-locking ones) and a multitool, but what about bigger folders (like a Buck 110 or a Benchmade Griptillian).
Thanks.

I don´t have the exact information about laws or the maximum blade size to carry in the pocket but you will not have problems at all carrying a SAK or a multitool with or without locking mechanism, I take different Leathermans for years and a couple of times I´ve been stopped by the police and have to take everything out of my pockets. In that case if you say "I have a knife in my belt" or in my pocket, changes the situation and the officer will consider this as a "good way". Anyway, I wouldn´t take a big knife with me (more than 3 inches blade) because depends where you are or the situation you can have "problems", I mean your knife can be confiscated but you are not going to the jail because of a knife in your pocket. There is not a legal regulation about the size like in the UK (3 inches and non locking blade), but I take a BM mini Griptilian clipped in the front pocket of my jeans and I don´t worry too much about.
I hope this helps.

Martin.
