Hi Guys,

I have a knife which has a spanish micarta handle (an Alaska survivor knife by Gil Hibben). Nice, heavy knife and the handle is very nice. What is spanish micarta? Is it the same as "regular' micarta? And, I haven't seen spanish micarta advertised. Do you guys know where I can get it?

Appreciate any info.

Dave

Never heard of "Spanish" micarta.
Micarta is a tradename of Westinghouse, and I would imagine it's the same wherever they ship it.

Sounds like a little sales embellishment to me, but I could be wrong.

Edited to add; I just did a search on "Spanish Micarta", and it appears to be some cheap polymer used on fantasy knives, and those so called wholesalers of Hibben knives for $135.00, etc.
It's nothing you'd want to use on a custom, and it's not really micarta.
