Hello,
before I posted here some navajas from Santa Cruz de Mudela,
all with stag handles, yesterday the owner of my favorite Knifeshop called
me, that some new navajas arrived with bull horn.
This time I bought a little smaller one, the big ones are sometimes too big :)
So here it comes:
9cm blade, carbon steel, just 1,5mm thick - a slicing monster!
total about 20cm long
brass bolsters
bullhorn handles in a milky, honey-white tone
backlock with lever

all for just 30€, not bad for a handmade one I think!

Interesting lock on those guys, cool knives!
I have a few knives like that and the lock makes a loud click when you open it up. I heard somewhere that is becuase the Spainish government regulates that the knife should have that sound so if you hear that, you know you may be aobut to be robbed. I don't know how true that story is, but it sounds good.

Well, you're right with that "click" sound,
but that's some time ago, don't know, maybe aboyt 1800.
these just make one loud CLICK, other bigger navajas hace the so called
"carraca" and make a loud "clickclickclickclickclick"... :)
