And the winner is
please send me your address.
At the start of my road trip in Spain he expressed an interest in the oversized traditional Pen knife I photographed in a shop window,it was the size of a sword.
It was also most definitely something that would get you in trouble in the UK.
So I thought how about I look for 3 different knives that wont get me in trouble if my bags are searched on the ferry back and are easy to post.
Heres the results I've done about 4,000 miles on this trip this one has been with me for about 3,800 so its been around Spain anti clockwise.
This is a popular Portuguese friction type folder which I purchased at the NATO early warning station as was
"Torre, mainland Portugal’s highest peak (1993m), is a rite of passage for many Portuguese travellers. Ski crowds flock here in winter, while at other times of year visitors come for a selfie by one of the radar stations: giant ‘golf balls’ that are so retro they could beam you back to the 1950s."
Though it was a bit cold it was one of the best rides of my trip and my 3rd visit,I love this area.

This one I purchased from a lovely little scenic village Near Alcoy below Valencia (its a slip joint) on a narrow mountain road, another great ride.
I think I drove the owner mad checking for snap and alignment on all his stock especially as he was waiting to lock up.

This last one is actually my favourite,I purchased it in Cuenca one of my favourite place to ride my bike through deserted mountain parks.
I was disappointed when I arrived to find the shop I had planned to go to had shut,I had purchased from him before.
This town didnt seem to have anywhere else selling much in the way of knifes that weren't made in China for tourists, I wanted Spanish as a proper souvenir.
But on the last morning looking for a coffee I went down a side street and found a hardware store with working men's knives in the window.
All the best things are happy accidents.
This is stainless, with a plastic handle and a lanyard hole.excellent I thought for working from a boat or over water, its made in Albacete.
Its a friction knife but with a very firm pull so very safe if you aren't used to these types.

The closed shop it was a treasure trove

So there we have it 3 different knives nothing that will break the bank, but a bit of fun I hope and all with a little story behind them.
I rather enjoyed doing it.
