Anyone know what size spanner socket or wrench (if they make them in that config) that'll fit the SOG Tech and Super Bowie? They appear to be the same size and I'd like to have the tool on hand if needed. Not sure if Home Depot and/or Lowe's would carry that item or not.

Thanks SO much in advance if you can be of any help!

As anyone here ever tightened the spanner nut at the pommel on a SOG before?

Whats wrong with a good adjustable wrench?

An adjustable wrench.... http://sogknives.com/store/SB1T.html (if you click on the pics one will show what the bolt on the pommel looks like)

SOG doesn't use a standard nut at the pommel, they use a spanner nut that screws in flush and has 6 holes in it, I'm sure there has to be a wrench out there with two posts that'll fit it but that's what I'm trying to find out.

that looks pretty specialized. you could try cutting an old credit card and put push pins in to match up. you can actually put a good amount of torque on this inpromptu device ive had to do it for some of my chines folders with funky pivots

you don't need a specialized tool to get it off. I've taken them off two sog's with just a paper clip opened up into a U. Set the two ends into the holes. Use needle nose pliers and grip the paper clip perpendicular to the handle, real close to the pommel. Turn counter-clock-wise. If you grip very close to the pommel with the pliers, you would basically have to shear the paper clip for it to break, and it doesn't require that much force to undo. There is no lock-tite on the thread.

Oh, gotcha! Thats an easy one, what you need is a pair of circle clip pliers.
