hey there... i was wondering if anyone knew of a cheap alternative to the spanner baby ? i need to snug the pivot on my sng...and i cant find anything that fits...
awesome idea... but its not a solution for me... i have no dremmel tool... but it would be cheaper to get your bike wrench and the dremmel than to get the spanner baby... so its still a good idea..ive always wanted a dremmel
Take a look around at bike shops and catalogs. There are other chainring bolt tools that don't have the center post, so there will be nothing to Dremel away.
Mick says just to use a flat head screw driver on one side and a allen wrench on the other. I just put pressure on the spanner side with my thumb and use the allen wrench and it works just fine.
Anybody know what the reason is that Strider doesn't just use something with a big ole' hex or similar? It seem inconvient, unless there's a reason to do it this way.
Hey Revierler where did you get that thing ?? i need one !! ....also using a 5/16 flathead wont work because the male side of the pivot sticks up above the female side...so id have to dremel the screwdriver too... thanks for all the suggestions !!
I have used a campagnolo spanner wrench. Its the right size and the price is about $8 on ebay. This is the item number on the one that I bought. 7196945216
