spare kardas?

Wouldn't be too hard to make your own karda. In fact Russell Green River makes a couple models of smallish paring knives which would be useful in that role.
 
Good idea on making your own.

There's other stuff you can carry in those little pockets too. A ceramic rod can serve for aligning a blade like a chakma and also sharpens. So does a diamond rod. They may not be as good throwing sparks off flint though.

Maybe a SAK or a little leatherman type tool can fit in.

Nothing against getting a traditional karda. Just some additional ideas.
