Spare parts?

Hey, guys, one of the screws for my pocket clip on my Journeyman stripped(not the threads) it was my fault, guess I forgot to tighten it and noticed it at work, and I had to use the small flathead on my victorinox to tighten it, and it doesn't really bother me too much, but would Emerson send a new screw for free? Or would I have to pay the $8 + shipping for a new set of three?

This definitely isn't a complaint btw just purely a question if I should go ahead and order a new set.

Heres an applied suggestion....instead of paying $8 to replace screw(i understand you will receive 3) pm/email member "gnoleb" for titanium clip for around $20 and it will come with 3 screws. Or if you would like to email me, i may have a couple i could send you.

Order some 2-56 screws from one of the knife supply shops and you can get a whole bag of them for around the same price.

You can also buy a spare parts kit from Emerson for $6+. It'll have screws & bolts for just about everything on the knife. Buy a couple of those and pay the $8 shipping and you'll get a bunch of replacement parts shipped for about $25. They're on the Knives>Accessories page.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I think I'm gonna order some 2-56 screws that way I have a whole bunch and I might get the titanium pocket clip as well.

Emerson's screws are soft for a reason. Most titanium is soft (compared to steel) and it doesn't take much to strip titanium threads with steel fasteners. It would suck to buy harder screws from another source and strip out the threads in your frame. I would go with the factory parts.

I love that Emerson sells spare parts, and it's a major reason that I use their knives. Most companies "void your warranty" for disassembling your knife

Check out www.usaknifemaker.com, their website has a pretty good layout with lots of options. I grabbeed (2) 25ct. bags of screws (satin and black) for about $10. I also grabbed a bag of 40ct. bronze phosphorus washers to replace teflon washers on Emersons
