Spark, could we get this infraction lessened?

Ya. I was just quoting the movie, I had no racist intent. W&C is just so ridiculous I forget to control myself sometimes.

I'll watch what I say next time.
 
I've no idea whether this will help or just be an irritant.

But ... I, too, think that mercy should be shown.
 
The 30 point infraction is still there when you click on it.

I also agree that the poster just failed to make clear it was a quote from the movie, rather than a racist intent. If anything, it should be a warning, or at worst an infraction that expires after so many days. JMO, FWIW.
 
Hang in there. Just P.M.ed HPIC with this link. Once he get's a chance it will be taken care of.
 
Racism isn't tolerated here, even jokes about racism. "Up yours, Nigger" is a quote from Blazing Saddles, but that certainly wouldn't have been my first thought on reading that post.

I'll reverse the infraction, but I've issued a new one that expires in 30 days for the bs I have to filter through as a result of this.

Not at all. Although the post was over the top a little and I did not like it at all, I think Spark hit upon the best solution.

As a mod who works a little more than full-time we get emails that direct us to reported posts. When busy, sometimes snap judgments are involved especially if I have a lot of business going on at the same time so this is in no way a critique of the original infraction which was understandable in my opinion and experience. It is a term that disgusts reasonable people.

Absolutely agreed. If it matters (it doesn't), I have absolutely no complaint with the original infraction ... perfectly understandable.

BF is a big place and there are never enough Sheriffs on the prod. ;)

Oh I know Bastid. I do believe in the past I've grumbled because I felt some folks got off too light on racism issues.

Just a case by case thing. I consider the mod who gave the original infraction a friend and I don't know the poster in question; just voicing my opinion on what I felt was just.
