My apologies in advance for asking a dumb question: My original username here at BF was SpyderNut (from 2001). My current username is Kahr9mm. I have not been able for to use my SpyderNut username since 2003 because it is linked to an inactive email account that I no longer have a password for. (I can provide the name of my old email account as verification of my identity, if necessary). I would very much like to use my old account again if possible. Is there any way that BF can open this account for me so I can use my SpyderNut username again? I am very willing to pay the $10 change of username fee, if applicable. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Michael

I see the question. You probably need an answer from Spark, rather than a moderator.

I changed the title so he'll know we need his attention. I don't know what he might be using for email now. I would recommend Private Messaging but that requires a paid membership.

FWIW, I had an account from ~'99 and had the same issue (old college e-mail account). I was told to just use the new account, and to abandon the old one. :(

Hi Spark,
I would really appreciate a response on this. I originally posted this thread on 1/3/17.

Kind regards,
Michael

If you can't show that you control that old account, there's no way to verify it's actually yours.

Thanks for letting me know. Fortunately, I was able to regain access to my old AOL email account this evening. Only one problem remains: I tried to reset my password for my SpyderNut username, but the BF password reset instructed me to contact the Administrator because it "did not recognize my email address." Can you please send me the link so I can reset my password?

Thanks again for the help!

Hi Spark and Esav,

Sorry to bother you, but I was hoping to get this resolved. As I mentioned above, I have regained access to my old AOL e-mail account that is connected with my "SpyderNut" username. (I can provide proof of this in private, if you prefer). I attempted several times to reset my password for this account, but I continue to receive the following message:

vBulletin Message
You have not entered an email address that we recognize. Please try again or contact the administrator.

Am I doing something incorrectly? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you both for your continued assistance.

Kind regards,

Michael

We need Spark to look in. Since you are officially Kahr9mm with its own email, the system won't allow you to switch to SpyderNut on your own.

Let me see if we can get him to look in on this again.

Thank you, Esav! I would greatly appreciate that. If necessary, I am willing to close out or eliminate my current Kahr9mm account so that the other account can be activated.

Again, I really appreciate your help with this.

Kind regards,

Michael

SpyderNut does not have an aol email. You need to use the actual email address associated with that username to do the 'lost password' recovery

Hi Spark,
Thank you for the information. I really appreciate that. Is there a way that I can send you a private message or email to verify my email address for this account?

Thank you again for your help!

If you have access to the email account listed in the SpyderNut profile, you can reset the profile and then post with it in this thread.

Hi Spark,
That seems to be the issue, because I cannot access my SpyderNut profile. If possible, can you send me a link to reset my password for my SpyderNut account? I think I should be able to access it after that.
