It's quite a beauty, but I don't see any long term reviews on them. I'm thinking about picking one up, but with a $445 price tag, I kind of want to tread carefully. How's the heat treat/ edge performance? Fit and finish? Longevity of the lock? Action? Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you.

I created this thread on Sep. 10th but there wasn't much in terms of actual experience with it. By all indications, it sounds solid. Still waiting to hear back from a few who got one...

Looks like we have the same taste in knives.

I just noticed your post when I was doing more digging. I'm surprised at how little info is out there for this knife. Heat treat is just so important... CRK's S35VN really made me choosy at the heat treat of it. I've had good experience with Microtech's S35VN. I hope Akribis's heat treat is like MT's. I would be more willing to take a leap of faith if the price tag is lower.

I hope someone will provide some experiences.

My sentiments exactly.

My MicroTech Socom Elite in S35VN (CF insert) is just outstanding and it costs 45% less than the Spartan Blades Akribis Folder Knife Gray/Carbon Fiber!

I have a Wilson Combat Star-Tac which is basically a CRK Umnumzaan in S35VN but don't have any experience with the blade. A friend is borrowing it.

I was tired of bad MT's from the Mini-Matrix to the Doc flipper, but that Socom Elite changed my view on them completely. So much knife for the money. I like my Socom better than my Sebenzas.

I guess if you ever find out something about the Akribis let me know. I've handled one at Blade. It feels great and the opening is smooth as butter, but I don't want to pay $445 for feeling and smooth opening. That heat treat will be the determining factor... what's the MT heat treat for S35VN?
