I am searching a great knife for all task purpose and combat too (kind of military). So I am deciding between the ZT0100 or the Spartan Harsey II, considering the price and the quality of both wich one do you recommend me to buy. As the ZT have the CPM 3V and the Spartan the CPM S35VN, cause i saw a lot of comments that the S35VN isn't the great thing and that the S30V is way better. Sorry if this post shouldn't be here and excuse me for my poor english.
Other knives advices would be great too!

Thanks in advance!

I have never owned a Spartan blade, but the ones I have handled seem well made and have great fit and finish.

I have owned the zt 0100. I have short fingers, so I found the handle a little uncomfortable. However, I seem to be in the minority on this because a lot of people seem to like the handle a lot. If you have a chance to hold a zt 0200, the handle has a very similar shape.

The tip is tough while still being pointy enough to be very useful.

Its a nice knife, but you should know that the section of the blade near the handle is not sharpened, so you get a sort of a finger choil. I don't think its a mistake in the grinding. Its just the way its designed. The blade is fairly thick with no milling in the handle. As a result, it is fairly heavy for its size.

The sheath is fairly good quality, but I wished it was less bulky.

CPM 3v is a non-stainless tool steel. It is NOT the same as s30v. CPM 3v should be significantly tougher than s35vn, but it is not as stain resistant. The zt 0100 is coated, so I don't think rust would be a big problem for most people.

I liked a lot of things about the zt 0100, but I could not get over the handle comfort. If possible, I would handle it in person before buying one. Some people love the handle, but its not for everyone.

Hope that helps.

It helps a lot! Thanks, I will try to grab some zt 0100 or the 0200 then.
It would be great that someone that owns a spartan blade with S35VN could tell me about the edge retention and the steel quality, because I have heard a lot of people that were disappointed with the S35VN, but I know that the heat treatment is very important. So please if u have used a spartan blade tell me about it, and also how good is the coating that they use.:D

I don't have a spartan blade I've handled them and they were well designed and well made. I do have several fixed blades in s35vn and have had no trouble with it at all. It performs very well and holds a good edge. I have used a couple of them hard, lots of chopping some battoning wood and making feather sticks, starting fires ect. usual camp knife stuff and had no problems at all.

I really like the Spartan knives (own an Akribis folder) but you can get the ZT 0100 for about $200 less than the Spartan Harsey Model II and handle shape notwithstanding and rather subjective it may well be the better fixed blade.

My only complaint with the zt0100 is that the CPM 3V is non stainless steel, because I want a knife that I could use without having in mind to recoat it. I want like a knife for life. That being said I don't mean that I will go to abuse it or do super hard works with.
