Speaking Of A Knife Logo, How About Markings?

Why do some makers choose not to put their logo/stamp/trademark, origin of country, blade steel, or any other markings on the blades?

You as the consumer, do you prefer these marks on the blades, on the handles, or none at all?

I like seeing all the info on the blades myself stamped in, not engraved or acid etched. Gives more character to the knife with the info stamped on the blade in my opinion.

Sterile all the way. In my opinion the markings draws attention from the knife. I feel it´s enough me knowing who is the producer/maker of the knife and what steel it´s made of.

If there are some markings I have to agree with you that stamped in logo looks better. Sort of more robust feeling.

I prefer minimal info stamped. If possible, I like that stamp to be on the ricasso, particularly in slipjoints. I don't like writing on the blade--either etched or engraved. Most of the knives I have don't have a whole lot of stuff written on them. I expect to see the manufacturer's name/mark somewhere, and like to see the steel named. Despite my poor memory, am usually able to remember the model name of the knives I'm carrying. I understand putting the name of a custom maker on a collaboration, but it can be done tastefully, not emblazoned for all the world to see at 20 paces.
