Thought this would be a good time to ask....Who's testing for their JS or MS ratings this year?

Big John Fitch doesn't participate here, but unless something unforeseen happens he will be there testing for his MS.

Gentlemen,

Even though I don't make knives yet. I will be taking time off later this year from Active Duty to go to the ABS/MORAN School.

My question is what do they look for the JS/MS Rating?

Ceya, get hold of James Rodebaugh at 970-947-7772.He will tell you all you need to know.
James and Mike Vagnino are both testing this year for their MS.
Randy

Sava Damlovac will also be testing for his MS.
With luck and their skill I will be going home with daggers from John Fitch, Sava, and Michael Vagnino. (and some of you complain about a few months wait :D).

I can't wait to congratulate all and celebrate with them at the Friday night dinner. Good luck folks.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the links. Maybe I will be in front of you getting my rating.

Joss,
I think so. I believe he will be coming to what is becoming our annual dinner on Thurday night with some of his buddies.

Danbo, you gotta come this year(Check with me or "Calvin"). Last year John and Ron had us in stiches the whole time. We are still hoping and praying that Audra and Mike will be able to make it.

Yes! Jon will be testing for JS. He and I are splitting a room at the hotel. I'll be getting into Atlanta around 2:40pm, hopefully, to the hotel within a hour or so after that.
Gus: Dinner???? Food is always a good thing! :p

If anyone is interested, we kinda started the tradition last year.
We will meet in the lobby near the elevator Thursday after the A.B.S Board meeting breaks (around 6 or so) and head out from there. I will be in the hall until they close on Thursday, but if you don't see me just check with Fitch, Sava, Pete Peterson, the Drapers, Ron Newton or Reggie Barker and they will fill you in on when and where we are meeting. We may even twist Jerry's arm (if he has time) :D.

It was a good relaxing evening last year before the hectic pace of the show started. We yucked it up for a couple of hours at dinner and then had a show and tell in Pete, John and Dawn's room at the Waverly.

If anyone is up for early breakfast a few of us go out every morning well before the doors open. Drop me an email if I can help with anything (I live about 15-20 min. away.)

Any of you smiths who are going for your JS and MS ratings at Atlanta need to make sure that you have checked in with Jan DuBois; ABS Secretary. She needs to get you on the list so time and schedules for the judging can be worked out. Best luck to you all! If i get to town in time I will try to catch you in the lobby. mike

I'm not positive, but I think one of our BFC Moderators is going for his MS stamp this year...Anybody care to guess who I'm talking about?

I figue it might be Darrel, Rob or Bobby. If it is Darrel I might be going home with 4 daggers :D.

Oh man am I excited, I have not gotten to talk with Darrel for a while and had now idea he was testing this year. We started talking about it in 1996 before he got his Journeymans stamp. I hope to be celebrating with all the new MS and JS folks.

It looks like it is going to be a big crowd this year! Another good thing is all the international participation that has been on the increase over the last few years.
