Fred and I have lots of trees around the house that we're taking down. Today, we decided to bring out the big knives.

First we used the NMFBM: ye old standby, but then brought out the 1311.

Honestly, the 1311 was so much fun to use, we didn't get to the other two. Happy chopping!!

Folks, that 1311 is a chopping champ. Light, fast, lots of momentum. It made easy work of maple and poplar saplings up to about 6" diameter. The Mrs is pretty lethal with it too:)

Looks like a great time, good to see them knives working. The 1311 is on my short list. :-)

I havn't had a chance to use my 13-11 yet, but the 11-11 seems to be about the same weight. I'd guess they would be pretty close in a chop off. Nice pics...looks like fun

Great pics! I got excited when I saw the NMFBM in the first post and I knew it was going to be a good thread.

The 1311 was born to chop, IMO. I stripped mine and it chops much better. If they made a satin 1311 I'd probably have to go work the corner... Sometimes I don't take it out to chop with the rest because I want my other choppers to get used too :D

Great pics! Can't wait to see that pumpkin MOAB put to use when you get it. I almost pulled the trigger on it myself as I love dealing with Russ almost as much as I love my MOAB's but I fell a few dollars short at the time.

Looks like you had a great time Shannon! There is nothing better than taking down a tree :D Well maybe watching the guys do it and drink a beer ;)
