Speaking of Permanent Matches

I stopped by the BudK showroom last weekend. Now I'm the proud owner of 12 brand new Permanent Matches. Well, at least until they're given away as presents.

After playing with one a bit, I'm thinking regular lighter fluid might not be the best fuel for them. I get a good stong spark, yet ignition is about 50%.... or less.

I was thinking of using denatured alcohol.

Has anyone really done experiments with permanent matches... or should I make myself the official gunea pig?

I really like the metal match I've owned for many years. Great seal on the match. It was made in England. I recently bought another and was disappointed to find it was made in Red China. The new one doesn't have a good seal but I'll have to give it a little more time to know for sure.
 
I regular use each in my permanent match: lighter fluid sometimes, methanol other times, occasionally a mixture of the two. Both work fine.
