Spear identifiaction

Hi, could anyone please help me to identificate spear, all what I know about it is that it was brought by civil cargo pilot in 60-70 from Africa. Spear made of iron as it attract magnet. The dimensions as follows: blade: length - 22 cm, width - 3cm, thikness - 0.1 cm. full length 43 cm, width of foundation for shaft - from 2.5 cm to 1 cm. 1inch-2.54 cm.

I remember tossing around two of these (identical to yours) in Ottawa, Ontario back in the early 60s. A neighbour had bought them somewhere along the way complete with thick/durable animal skin shields stretched over a stick frame and they were pattern-coloured black, brown and white. The wood hafts were dry and brittle and very quickly broke. Likely they were products for the tourist trade and maybe you want to search around for a S. African origin.
 
Looks like a rather badly made assegai.
You gotta remember these were produced for the tourist trade and to hang as decorations on a wall. I don't know why I'm thinking Masai but they might well have produced things like this.

I'd have speared them if they would've sold me this if I were a tribesman ^^
