Spear point folder suggestions

I'm looking for a new EDC knife. I'm currently carrying a benchmade 530. I really like the thin profile and light weight of the knife, but I'd like something with a bit more of a robust feel to it.
I've considered the Emerson Mini A100, but after handling one, I decided it was too thick for my liking. Plus, I am not a fan of the grind on the A100.

I also have a Benchmade 350, but again, it seems kind of flimsy. (not as strong as I would like.)

Weight is not as important as a thin pocket profile. I would really a spear point blade design similar to the A100 or BM 530.
As far as blade steel goes, I'm a huge fan of D2 and similar steels that will hold an edge. (How does S30v compare to D2?)

Any suggestions?

Thanks a million!

Hmmm.... spear points are quite hard to find. Lotta drop points but not too many true spears. I think S30V trumps D2, personally.

What qualities of S30v make you say that.
I was talking to a salesman at the knife shop and he highly recommended S30v. Most of my recent purchases have been D2 and I've really been impressed with edge retention. Does S30v hold an edge longer with average use?(opening boxes, etc.)

This doesnt really fit your steel requirement but the Kershaw One Ton might be to your liking. Its only 8CR13MOV but it is a nice knife.

OK first off I should say my experience with D2 has been limited to a Benchmade bali that I just couldnt get sharp. Granted my sharpening skills were somewhat stunted at that time. However, my experience with S30V is extensive and I dont have issues with sharpening it. Especially now that I have upgraded my sharpening kit (DMT DuoSharp fine and extra fine benchstones and a Spydie fine ceramic benchstone). I've always found it holds an edge for plenty long enough, for average tasks. That said there are a LOT more knives available in S30V than D2. BTW I had a brainfart after I posted. What about a Spydie Sage 2? I've never owned one myself but by all accounts its a fantastic little folder.

If you are looking for spearpoint, then the HK/Benchmade 14205 and 14210 are worth a look. From what I've heard they're pretty smooth and robust.

The nitrous Stryker from Benchmade also comes in a spearpoint version.

I'm not sure how 'robust' this knife feels, but the SOG Pentagon Elite has a spear point and quality steel (VG-10).

I'll throw the Bradley Alias II out there as something to check out (or the Alias I if you want a bigger knife). It's relatively thin yet feels extremely robust. However, it's not a true spear point (modified spear point) and fairly expensive (~$175 street price)--though worth it in my book.

The Native has a spear-point. It's smaller, but feels solid. Also, it uses s30v or s35vn depending on the model. The newer knife's spearpoint is not as defined as the Native 4.

Leatherman Expanse series knives are another option. They use 154CM steel and are pretty thin (less than 1/2" for the ones that don't have the screwdriver bits) and lightweight. Handles are part FRN and part stainless steel, so they should have a reasonably solid feel.

the 14205 is great, and probably will have the smallest amount of adjustment required for the OP coming from the 530. I always thought the 530 was one of the worst example of the Axis, while the 14205 is one of the best. the 14210 is cool too, though it's a little smaller than I like and there's a slight recurve in the blade.

These are getting harder and harder to find since being discontinued. Hopefully they will bring them back as Benchmade branded knives in the future.

If you consider the Al Mar SERE 2000 a Spearpoint, its in VG10.

This has been my main EDC for, hell, going on ten years I think. Al Mar VG-10 is unlike any VG-10 I've seen. Holds an edge better than Spyderco VG-10 in my opinion. If this knife was ever lost, I would replace it without hesitation. I would take this knife into hell to stab the Devil himself.

I've used it to cut through a motorcycle jacket like a hot knife through butter for a man dying in the street. I've used it for every cutting task you can think of. The lockup is solid as solid can be, and it glides open as smooth as silk. Over the years, the knife has shown some scratches on the blade, and lost just a hint of the tip during a dumb-ass prying move. One of the screws on the clip broke once, but Al Mar had it back to me in no time.

I can't say enough good things about this knife.
