if you modify the existing 4 to a spear point the tip, which is currently on the centerline of the grip will end up probably about 3/8" below the centerline and i would not expect that to be as good for thrusting, penetrating ir drilling.
so you may actually REDUCE the effectiveness for bushcraft, at least when it comes to drilling.
if you want a bushcrafter, you can get a Condor bushlore for about $30, or a custom bushcrafter for between $150 and $200 from JK, Off The Map or (slightly more expensive) Fiddleback.
then there's the Blind Horse Knives bushcrafter, they have the standard grind in their website and some of their vendors have the scandi grind. about $135 for that and no waiting in line, just order it and have it shipped.
if you modify the 4, i'd expect the resale value to take a BIG hit. you'd turn a knife that's $100 new to one that's maybe worth $40 used.
just my opinion, not my knife. but i don't have any complaints about the shape of the 4... and i can be a picky bitch at times.
but if you want a dedicated bushcrafter, but one. even a custom knife is reasonably priced and starts at only about $50 more than the typical price of a new 4.
