Working on a little bushcraft-ish knife here. Just got a new grinder and it's made a huge difference in my ability to grind-- I've been going the freehand route and do not regret the 4 or 5 knives i ruined getting it right. Still learning the subtleties of controlling the metal against the platen.

My next project is to try to get the plunge line to look like the drawing.

Any feedback is welcome. I'm still figuring out how I want to finish the butt end shape.

What kind of grinder are you using? I'm a newbie and am using a file on some blades and a belt sander on others. Eventually I think I'll get a grinder. Freehanding on the sander is fun, but the results so far are less than stellar.

By the way, it's looking good so far!

Thanks! I'm using an Esteem grinder. The difference is night and day--it was pricey but the difference is I can trust it implicitly. Even if I put the belt on crooked, it straightens right up and tracks perfectly. Worth the investment.
