You really gotta get your hands on a fatty SH BA. It has everything you are looking for,and believe me it's perfect. You'll know as soon as you wrap your hand around one. Palm swell, perfect balance..just the most perfect Busse blade for me. Double convex, balance in the first finger groove. Did I say it's my EDC? Bought mine as a collectable, but it's never been inside the safe.
Try it,you'll like it!

Hmmmmmm. Very tempting Wet. You got an extra laying around that needs some lovin'? I might be interested if the price is right. Thing is, I never really got in on any of the 2nd generation Busses. I bought my SH1 when they were current and took a sabbatical of sorts. I kind of fell off the wagon about a year ago and haven't managed to relocate and reboard... so to speak.:D Now I'm as out of control as the rest of you freaks and getting worse by the day. I'm going to have to put in some overtime just to pay down the balance on my INFI card... huh Jerry?:rolleyes:

Let me know about that SHBA:)

I don't knoe if it's gen 1 or 2. Smooth rivets,so prob 1. I think 2 were slotted,but am nowhere near sure about this. 95% sure it's A2,but so what? Ya gonna break 5/16 A2?

I don't have one to part with, but they can be found. Put that training to work. I'll keep an eye out for you.

Yeah, the smooth are the first iteration of the first generation of Badgers. Although, the original BA is a part of the second generation of Busse Combat blades. As I recall, the SH1 (in ATS 34) was the only model offered for quite a while. Followed by the SH2, Badger Attack, American Kensei, etc in A2. Then in the middle of that the BM in INFI was introduced... and that should bring you up to speed...:D I always kept up with current offerings but I was stubbornly clinging to the "I spent an awful lot on this one... and who needs a small knife anyway" philosphy. Sometimes I'm not too bright. In retrospect, knowing what the SH1 cost me in comparison to what they go for now... well, let's just say I have my regrets. :grumpy:

I'll keep my eyes open. Thanks for the offer. I appreciate it.:)

BADGERS..

BADGERS??

WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGERS!

Skunk

Is that slotted infi or A2? The grind looks A2,but my 1/4" slotted is infi. Can you shed any meaningful light on this? Thanks.

Wet

the slotted one is a-2 and is done in a very rough bead blast, not

the double cut smooth blast.

the two top ones are both a-2 and both 5/16.

the riveted one is 1/4 infi

somewhere the last of the slotted were done in infi but i don't know when. i do know how to tell the difference.

the shba's are one of my favorites!!

USUALLY by the curved grind line at the tang. Like it was ground with a wheel rather than a belt (verticle). This has just been my observation from known blade steels. Of course I guess there could be some vertical line infi, but I don't know for sure. Look at your BM's. They are ALL infi and all have the curved grind line.

Good grief, Stinky! Don't you use any of those knives you've got? Hoardin' bastage! It looks like the top one may have seen some light use. Disgusting, really. You should send them north to a proper home with regular and frequent beatings.:grumpy::cool:

BTW, those are some purdy Badgers.:D

mmmmmm.. safe queens, all of them pictured:barf:

all my users are still fairly clean. i don't use a knife for anything but cutting.

last things i cut were:

opening cement bags
hotdog willows
styrofoam wall board
1/2" wooden dowel
salami and cheese
scored some sheetrock
striped wire
splinter picker
debured some pvc pipe
cut some plastic buckets

but nuthing abusive like rocks or prying

Mine is just like the top one except missing more finish and with dirty grips. One of these days I'll clean em up,but not today.:D

SH... There ya go. Skunk can keep the BB one in the safe to admire and send the other North for some 'tough lovein'

Skunk...VERY nice herd of Badgers!
