It is already established that this design excels at bushcrafty chores. My question is how does it do at general EDC type stuff or dressing small game? I know the UNK is gaing sweeping praise but I REALLY prefer a spearpoint knife.
I have/have had too many "specific task" knives and want to end up with 2 maybe 3 knives so I do not have to choose what knife to carry based on what I will be doing that day.

TIA,
Bill

Bill, you can't go wrong with a spearpoint. IMO, it is the best all around blade shape for everything from bushcraft, kitchen work to game prep. I've used many blade shapes in my 30 plus years of deer hunting and even though I now prefer the UNK blade shape as my primary hunting knife, my second choice would be the spearpoint. I do not like alot of belly up to the point for game prep. I absolutely hate the upswept point for a hunting knife. The point is always in the way.

Scott,
I am looking for the ideal companion knife to the big spearpoint you built me and this design looks VERY good. Are the handle dimensions substantial for bushy work or more slim for EDC type carry?

hmmm Gossman trio! PSK, SP MTusker and my big Spearpoint.
A Trifecta of O1 sharpness.

I can do the handle thickness for either. Thicker 3/8" scales per side, contoured or thinner 1/4" each side semi contoured.
