Did this one over the weekend. Spear point made from O1 tool steel with an antiqued finish. The handle is hemp cord with a Spanish ring knot.

Thanks! I used the gun blue and bleach etch method that a knifemaker here taught me. The Spanish ring is a continuation of the Turk's head knot.

I wish I could remember the knife maker who posted the turorial, but anyways....

You want to make sure that the knife is clean and free from grease and dirt. Then apply a cold blue by dabbing it on instead of wiping it on. Immerse the blade into a jar of bleach and let it sit for 5 to 15 minutes depending on how much of an effect you want. After removing the blade from the bleach, rub with 0000 steel wool and then nuetralize with baking soda or windex and then oil the blade. Pretty much all there is to it.
