Spec bump g10 slippery

My buddy has two Spec Bumps; one he carries and one that has never made it out of his drawer. The one he carries is stamped Sept '06 and the handles have become slippery "my fingers just glide right over the knurling".

He likes the texture and grip of the Speed Bump handles, so I was wondering: should he send his Spec in to Kershaw for service or attempt a handle swap with a cheap Speed?

Do the Specs have a history of becoming slippery?

I have a Spec that I carry on a regular basis and I don't find it to be any more slippery than the ones I don't. Contact Kershaw by phone or via the web contact form (on the Kershaw site under CONTACT US) and they may be able to send you a set of scales and screws or they may want you to send it in. I would not attempt to swap with a speed bump.... he paid for G10 so he deserves G10 handles (plus, I don't know that the swap would even work). I wish you guys the best of luck. The CS folks should be able to get you straightened out in no time.
