I just ordered one of these and was looking for opinions. I see reviews of the 2 but not the 1. I'm surprised to see the SOG bashing on here. I have two blinks and LOVE them. I'm looking forward to my first SOG auto. Anyone have one?

Don't have one, but it looks decent. At ~$110, you should be fairly pleased with it. Let us know what you think of it when it arrives.
I've got a SOG TAC-1 and I'm pleased with it for the price. Might have to take a look at the Spec Elite at Blade.

If you have any problem, SOG is pretty darn good about standing behind their products.

SOG does take a fair amount of bashing, some is understandable, some isn't.
I've got a number of SOG folders and have found them decent, but then I don't buy at MSRP and most SOGs are heavily discounted, which makes them a pretty good deal.
Almost all the negative comments are about the folders....either design or quality. Lot of comments about blade play, which I haven't encountered, but then mine don't see a lot of heavy use.
I've seen little to no bashing of SOG's fixed blades. They seem generally well thought of.
I can't recall seeing any negatives about their hawks. Everything I've read about the whole line of hawks is positive, some of it very positive. Apparently SOG has really nailed making good hawks in designs folks want and making them functional tools at a good price.

Well I got the knife yesterday. Fit and finish look good to me. The blade springs out hard, remind me of the Kalashnikov knife by boker. Came pretty sharp. I've been using it to slice open bags and boxes. Will update after more use.

Glad to hear it.
May have to put that on my shopping list for Blade.

Wanted to update this thread. I've had the knife 4 or 5 months now, and I'm still really happy with it. I carry it all the time, and have fired it hundreds of times. It still locks up tight, button push is crisp, and sharpens up nicely. It seems to lose the edge pretty quickly, but takes an edge really easily. I'm happy with this purchase, and I would recommend it. I don't use the pocket clip though, just have it in my pocket.

Thanks for the update. Glad you are still pleased with it.

Still haven't picked one up. (see Edit below)
Chris got me distracted at Blade showing me a new auto they are coming out with that he was pretty excited about. IIRC, he said it uses a flat coiled spring and seemed to work great. Really strong opening. I really liked it. Should also be more durable for addicted knife flickers ;).
Also, IIRC, they will be using the same new spring design in some of the assisted openers.

Unfortunately it was not for sale yet and he couldn't sell me the one he had there...and I tried really had to get him to :D.

Edit: Well, since I couldn't buy the new auto (yet!), you got me motivated to pick up a Spec Elite 2. Just ordered one right after I wrote the above.
