Spec Elite blade steel?

Hey everyone, first time posting so forgive any problems with the post.
I recently purchased a Spec Elite II since I loved my Pentagon Elite II so much. Both are great knives but, I can't find out for the life of me what steel my Spec Elite blade is. Is it a newer VG-10 or an older AUS8. SOG's webpage says it should be stamped but that was on the sog blog and from a long time ago. So far from looking all over the net, on here and anywhere I could think of I can't find a pic that shows the blade stamped VG-10. There are 2 different ways that the blades are marked, some have sog spec elite II stamped on the left side and not sure what on the right, while others, like mine, are stamped with a larger SOG logo on the left side of the blade, with Spec Elite II and seki-japan under that on the right.
I emailed sog general info and I think the person who answered my question was confused or something since they told me this "It will be the AUS-8 steel if it is the liner lock version. If you have the Arc lock version, it will be the VG-10." which makes no sense to me since as far as I know the Spec Elite I and II have only ever been offered in the arc lock and I know that both had an AUS8 blade with the arc lock for at least a few years. I have contacted Chris as well to cover my bases but I thought it would be prudent to put this out on the forums as well.
In advance thanks for your help and also dealing with my long post.

No Worries :)

I bought a Spec elite 1 about a year ago from bass pro shop and I called SOG customer service and was told by a seemingly knowledgable representative that the steel was VG10. Just call SOG to make sure.
