Spec Elite I/ Blade Steel

I've bought today a SE I. Nice knife, but I wish it has thicker liners, anyway is a pretty well design and fits comfortable in my hand. My question is: how can I find what kind of steel was used for the blade? Older models have, as far I know, AUS 8. On the SOG site is VG 10. On the blade is Seki-Japan ... :)
 
At this point the Spec Elite knives are not marked. The Vision series are marked. Hope this helped.

SOG moving to VG-10 on the Spec Elite from AUS8!

That's a big change; I'd have thought SOG would have made more of a big deal about it.
 
It was more of a running change. We will be making more of a splash about that starting next year and this is just the beginning of some changes that will be made through out the line for 2008.
