Just wondering if the spec ops combat master sheath would fit the bk10 due to the thumramp...I have heard ways of remolding the kydex/plastic insert within the sheath to get it to fit correctly and was wondering how this would be done if the bk10 does fit already.

Or are there any other quality sheath alternatives with similiar design to the spec ops that will fit the kabar bk10?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

I've owned two such sheaths, one with a very successful outcome shortening it to match a Randall Model 14 (sawing the insert extremity shorter, and folding the cloth over its sawed tip to shorten the overall length, with nylon rails glued inside the insert to hold the blade steady without scratching it).

Reading everywhere about the insert's removal to heat-mould, I tried and tried to figure out how to remove the plastic insert without destroying the entire sheath, and never could...

Just keep that in mind... The insert is very loose to any blade (a dumb design devoid of moulded-in blade "pinching" that would solve so many issues) and will not fit tightly any blade unless a very thick 5/16" or even 3/8" thick without any distal taper -and more-, that are near two inches wide (at least not without adding cloth or rails inside to steady the blade)... The insert is also hard plastic, so it will scar the blade badly without adding soft "inserts" deep inside the insert, which is tricky without putting glue all over the inside...

Dumb design inside, but unbeatable quality outside.

The older SpecOps sheaths were nicer, and had a screw at the tip that allowed you to remove the liner. I have one for my CRK GB 5.5 with a custom kydex liner made by Survivalsheath. It's a great setup, shame the don't make the liners user-removable anymore.
