I recently picked up a bk-7 from a fellow Beckerhead and need a sheath. I've read all I can find on aftermarket sheaths and have decided to get a Spec Ops. So its down to Combat Master or Survival sheath. Any advice is appreciated especially from anyone who has owned/used both.

Thanks,
Rich.

I picked up a Combat Master after getting my BK7. I love the thing! Its a bit floppy at first, but I got used to it pretty quick.
I removed the liner and heated it up with a hair dryer then shaped it a little better to my BK7. I'm one of the few that actually like the thumb ramp, so I made it mold to the ramp better.
Also helped lock in the blade a little better.

Nice looking rig. When you say "floppy" what are you referring to? Is it the belt loops or the sheath itself?

I believe he is refering to the split belt loops as being floppy, if you use the leg tie downs around your leg it's know big deal.

Give me a few minutes Richard and i'll send you a PM, might be able to help you out.

I gotta Texas Hunt Co ( Spec Ops, different color), they work rather well. Highly recommend them.

Thanks for the info & advice, especially brboru7. I've ordered the Survival sheath and will post a mini-review when it gets here.

will the shorter versons fit the bk2?

Yup

Short 6. Fits......Like a glove (Ace Ventura)

As far as the debate between Combat Master and Survival......its a toss up really. The survival has a pocket big enough for a altoids tin, (IMO....this pocket seems rather hinky to me, I'm not sure, just too many buttons and clasps). The CM has a velcro closure pocket designed for a multi tool or a pistol magazine.

That texas huntco special was a sweet deal. Here's my 7 in their brown master. It works very welll.

That brown sheath in the picture above is exactly what I was carrying that cammy 7 in. There's no ramp on yours so you won't have to mold it in hot water but you'll like it better if you do.

Thanks O.F.! I can't wait to get out a dirty that 7 a little. It's definitely the sharpest knife I've got & I know it'll be great around camp.

Yes, the floppy I was referring to was for the belt loops. I usually prefer a more rigid belt attachment, but after wearing it a few times it gets pretty comfortable.
