Spec Ops sheath dulling blade

Hi, I bought a Spec Ops sheath a little while ago for my Scrapyard Urban Regulator and noticed after a while it would dull the blade. I'd sharpen it with my Wicked Edge, make it hair popping sharp and after taking in and out a couple of times, it would dull the blade to the point where it wont cut paper. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue?

Ok, you made me wonder and I took one of mine apart. The plastic insert is held in by the chicago style screw on the bottom. It's a universal type sheath so the knife is loose and rubbing on the plastic dulling the edge. I don't know what kind of plastic they use, but it might be able to be heated and formed to the blade better to it's not loose and flopping around.

That just doesn't sound right. Ive used Spec-Ops sheaths and never had them dull the edge of my knives. Maybe you have dirt or grit inside that's doing it. Clean it out good and see if it makes any difference.

I had an Izula that the sheath would flat spot the blade every time I inserted it. Same place every time. It was not dirt or grit, it was the plastic on the very thin convex edge. I stopped carrying it for this reason. With your issue with the insert I have seen where guys pull out the insert, heat it up and close the gap. If you insert predominantly right handed you can close the edge side and that will create more clearance for the cutting edge.
