I've seen this come up a couple times with a few of you.

I just got my ash in the mail and am too cheap at the moment to go get a sheath made (will from on scene eventually).

What exactly do you have to do with the spec ops sheaths to get the knife to fit? and it doesn't cut up the inside?

I'm not very familiar with these sheaths but would be good for me as I don't plan on wearing my ash in the bush, rather put it in my pack.

I understand that I should order the large size right?

thanks guys

oh and the ASH is awesome! will get some pics of it shortly after I tie a new paracord d-guard

There is a tutorial here somewhere if you look. Not too long ago. You can use either size though Ive used the large ones. good luck.

Yeah, it pays to pay for a membership. :D But luckily there are tons of helpful folks here. Let us know how the mod goes. :)

It kind of sucks not having a search function... even with a paid membership.

I can't get the search here to work on anything that involves multiple terms, or even some common terms. :(

FYI...I had a spare Spec Op Survival Sheath in a box I seem to have forgotten about so decided to try this fitting with an ASH1. I also want to point out this the large version.

I cut a notch and recess up the side using a Dremel about 3/4 the length of the sheath. I did not have to perform ANY heating what so ever.

When I placed the ASH1 in it fit...snug...but it fit. No issue with the tip hitting the screw either seeing this the large sheath rather then the small. I have to admit I also prefer the STF (Stretch-to-Fit) pocket for my other items. Something worth considering also is that it seems the STF pocket is also slightly larger on the larger sheath as well.
