I have seen some folks that have posted pics using the Spec Ops sheaths with their Beckers. Anyone willing to give opinions or a review of the Spec Ops sheaths? They look good in the pics, but I have never had one and dont know much about them other than what I have read. Any knowledge and comments appreciated.

The BK2 does fit well in the one i just picked up in trade. It has an adjustable handle strap. So, if you have non-factory scales, you can make it fit like a glove. It has an extra pouch, like the BK15, 16, 17 sheaths. It has para-cord for a leg strap. VERY well made. I'd rate it a 9 out of 10, & i am VERY picky. I say 9 out of 10 just because i prefer a drop-leg swivel setup. It can certainly be modified to be that way. You cant go wrong. Mine was unused but not sure if the plastic blade liner was heated & stretched, so the BK2 could fit, but it fits well. I like it. I traded a knife i will never use for it.

good sheaths - my BK10 & BK 12 fit well in the "short" and the BK5 will fit in a "Long"

Have a long one for my bk7. Very nice sheath and a great addition to the knife. Wouldn't mind a short one for my bk10. Just wish there was a larger one for the bk9.

Mine is mounted to my ALICE pack, (it's the same color OD green) it carries my BK2, and the pouch holds my fire kit. The sheath is tough and well-built, with no rattle or blade movement when secured. I do need to remove the knife in order to take out the mint tin fire kit, but I chalk that up to an extra level of security. There's no chance of it falling out.

Like Twinstick said, the snap is adjustable to fit over any handle, and you can make it as tight or as loose as you need.

Just ordered a long combat sheath for the BK 7. Should be here next week. I'll post some pics.

I've got the one with the MOLLE webbing on front instead of the pouch for my 7. It's an excellent sheath, very well made and thought out, the handle adjustment works well, the knife fits perfectly, and the dual belt loop system is great if you need/want to lock the knife in one position with no chance of it moving around. I love it.

I have the 3, 5, and 7 in longs.
I have the 2, 10, and 12 in shorts.
Some are Spec-Ops and others are Texas Hunt Co's (sister company).
Some even say Camillus on them.

Thanks to all for the good comments and opinions and the pics as well. Seems like its a good product and folks are pleased with them. Here we go again, this site makes me spend money LoL :)

Looks like Guyon doesnt like these sheaths :chuncky:

Great Sheath and well worth their cost. They are durable, have good retention, and can be mounted in a variety of positions.

I pulled the kydex liner out of my short and dropped it in boiling water for a mintue then put my 2 in it and squeezed. It fits awesome now. Great nylon sheath. Made in USA to boot. Go for it.

that reminds me about a disadvantage of the one I have. You can't easily remold the Kydex. It's riveted in with a hollow rivet.

I love the SpecOps sheaths and envious of Biscuit's collection. Now we just need to lobby for them to produce 9" sheaths and all will be right in the world.

As for fit, if they don't fit right off the bat, a quick soak in boiling water will give you a perfect meld.

I have a spec-ops sheath for my 7 and it has been a pretty good sheath. The front pack can holf anything the size of a 9mm clip. Found a few slim tins that fit the bill nicely. THe only complaint I have is that it seems a bit floppy on my belt at times. Not too noticable, just irks me at times to feel it flop. Leg tie down does eliminate it though.

Mines!

Guys, thanks to all for the great info and taking the time to post pics. This thread filled up nicely. I am gonna pull the trigger on some of these sheaths, for some of my non beckers as well.

Got the sheath yesterday. Damn, the ramp of the BK7 doesn't fit in. What do you do to make it fit? Heat it up and bend it?

I just stretched it a bit but a lot of folks will remove the liner and drop it in boiling water for a few seconds then insert knife.

Prep: Masking tape the blade up, get a pan or pot big enough for the liner to fit, and put just enough water to cover. Get a towel ready.

Once the water is boiling, drop the liner in, 10-15 seconds will do. Take the liner out (preferably with tongs) and put the liner on the towel, put the blade in, fold the towel over it and press down on the liner to flatten it out get a nice fit. If it doesn't come out the first time, don't sweat it, you can rinse and repeat as necessary, putting it back in the boiling water brings it back to original form.

Exactly! I used a hair dryer on high. Heated it up then forced the blade into the insert. I also put a slight bend in the insert to help with a little more blade retention.
