Spec Ops Sheaths

From what I can tell, the Survival sheath has a fastex buckle securing the accessory pouch (the Navigator and Combat Master have velcro), the Navigator has some kind of "shine-through" opening on the bottom of their pouch, so you can shine your flashlight through it, without taking it out of the pouch? The Combat Master seems the least complicated, like the Navigator without the fancy light hole, and from what I've seen here on the forums, the most popular. I plan on getting a few here very soon. Hope that helps

I own the Survival Sheath as well as several Combat Masters. The Survival does have the buckle, but the accessory pouch is also made of a material that will stretch much further than the pouch on the Combat Master. I can fit a Leatherman Wave, LED Flashlight, Bic lighter and a couple of small pieces of gear in mine. Both are great sheaths. The pouch is the only difference I can notice.

Do you mean high as in on your chest or high on your waist? I don't see any way to mount it higher on your waist without getting really creative.

The back of the Combat Master has two snap-closing straps so that you can fasten it on either side of a belt loop to keep it in place and a stip of the Molle webbing to mount to tactical vests, packs etc.

As far as I've seen the Survival sheath is discontinued, good luck finding one. I tried to order one several weeks before Christmas, and even sites that listed them in inventory called back and cancelled the order saying they couldn't get them anymore.

I got the combat sheath, and for what i put in the pouch, it's just fine.

Is there a way to mount the combat master to a belt so it rides high?

I just got a combat master for my Ratweiler and really like it. You may be able to rig up something by utilizing the rigging for the paracord. I don't have it in front of me but you may be able to use the eyelets to rig up some sort of system to ride higher.
Another option maybe? If you don't mind adding some rivets or something you may be able to extend the belt loops down and rivet the ends lower on the sheath. The kydex insert should keep the rivets from rubbing the blade just be forewarned that the kydex insert is in there pretty tight so some slight warming and flexing may be in order for it to fit in properly.
