I just finished looking through 15 pages of threads and was not able to find the makers contact info/web page (did a google search last night). Would anyone please post it? Is "Semper Paratus Tactical" the maker? They don't look the same as the ones I've seen posted.

Thanks Jason

Jason,

The sheaths are manufactured by Spec Ops. If you want a custom kydex liner, check Rob Hummelbaugh at Survival Sheath Systems. (www.survivalsheath.com)

I have one from him, and while the kydex does rub a bit, the fit and finish is awesome. You can find more info at the Survival Sheath Systems subforum in the Makers section of BladeForums. Good luck,

Jason

I'll add my .02 cents and say that for the money, Spec-Ops sheaths are a good buy.

FWIW---I just had a Spec-Ops sheath that came with my PD. The sheath was excellent quality.

Spec-Ops and Semper Paratus Tactical are two different makers,,,,, the sheaths are similar. IIRC the Spec Op's come in 2 sizes and imho look nicer. The Semper Paratus Tactical are made specifically for your blade. Gr8 quality but not as nice looking, and since they are custom made for you, a bit more expensive.

I really like the spec ops sheaths. Any alternative that will fit a dogfather?...and is more like the spec ops sheath than the one from scrapyard. Thanks.

I have a Spec-Ops sheath for one of my Busses. It's built like a tank and has a lot of adjustments, features and lash points. In fact, I'd say it's over-engineered. One of my favorite features is the split loops at the top to allow you to position them on either side of a belt loop so it won't slide back and forth. For the price I don't think they can be beaten.

I've used my Spec-Ops sheath to house both a HR and now my NMSFNO and i've found it to be an excellent sheath.

If you are looking for an inexpensive sheath to house your SOD I used a British Army sheath for my CG ASH-1 and it works very well. (Here's me using one with my HR http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=615644) I put mymindisamob onto them last year I think, he was able to get them in the US for about $5 if I remember right.

Gone for a little bit and all these replies.:)

Here's a pic of the sheath I received with my BME. I was thinking it was a Spec-Ops sheath but seeing the split on the belt loop of the ones in the links (and various pics of others) it looks as though it may not be.

Any ideas on the maker of my sheath?

Thanks again everyone.
Jason

Appears to be a Busse Factory Sheath in black,,,,,,,,,I have the same set-up in olive drab,,,, although it does'nt quite appear greenish in this pic

You could have a look at a RTAKII sheath. It's quite similar if you wanted to stay in this style.

Yep. RTAKII is a great sheath. Not sure if it'll fit the DF. But a great sheath for bigger Busse-esque knives. I used to have a link of some place just selling the sheaths for $35 or something.

Spec Ops sheaths were good until they jacked the price. Now you are better off spending a little more and getting a custom sheath.

Is that a black handled BME? Is the blade black? Mines green with blk blade.

Does Busse still make the factory sheaths?

Mine is green handle with a black blade,,,,,,,, but I did strip the spine and handle of the black coating ,,,,,,,,, too harsh of a flash setting I guess,,,,,,, and as I said previous,,,, the sheath is olive drab, and it certainly doesn't look it in the pic.

No , I don't believe Busse makes factory sheaths anymore,,,,, mainly because lots of folks prefer custom sheaths and would rather not pay for a sheath that they won't use.

Here's a more color accurate pic of the knife.
