I just bought a timberline spec war. What is the big velcro/clip strap deal on the back of the sheath for? And its got another strap that seems to have no purpose whatsoever. It has a velcro strap that wraps around the middle of the sheath, and does nothing else. Anyone have any answers?

I haven't seen that sheath, but use your imagination! You might want to strap it to your leg, to a rucksack strap, to the frame of a frame pack or the handlebars of a bicycle, upside-down, right side up, or horizontal....

I also coudn´t find much utility in that exotic sheath, at the time I had one of these knives, besides finding it hard to get the knife out of it. I believe a simpler optional kydex clip sheath would be an interesting item to be offered by Timberline. But it will be easy for you to have a kydex sheath custom made, anyway.
