SpecBump corrosion??

I have a Spec Bump in my EDC rotation along with a Blur, an Endura 4, and a Tighe Fighter. Somehow some of the hardware on the Spec Bump seems to be corroding. It hasn't been anywhere the others haven't or treated any differently, so I don't really understand the discrepancy. Anyone else seen this?

Seems unusual.
I just checked out my Spec Bump and couldn't find any sign of corrosion anywhere on it. I had EDC'd it for over a year, and generally wiped it down whenever it got excessively linty or immediately after use (if it called for it).

Is there corrosion anywhere besides the pivot screw?
It looks like something corrosive got into recess for the pivot screw since it looks like the rust fills the space around the screw. Seems like it is more that typical surface rust.

I don't really see corrosion anywhere but on that screw and perhaps a little on the other screws. This blade hasn't been around any chemicals and I don't really feel a passing human touch would have deposited enough of anything to corrode coated hardware. Maybe I'll try to pull the pivot screw for a better look. Is anything going to !SPRONG! out of the mechanism if I take it out?

Make sure the blade is open (but not locked) so there is no tension on the torsion bar, you shouldn't have any stuff flying out then.

Also, contact Kershaw's Warranty dept. they should be able to get some replacement screws to you.

All it would take is a few extra warm or strenuous days when carrying the Spec Bump when compared to conditions on the days the others were carried. A sweaty pocket creates an adverse atmosphere for a knife...:D

Anyway, Kershaw customer service will fix you up...;)
