I'm hoping she's pleased with it. She ordered ''Shiny, Pink and Unique'' and I think I satisfied the specifications LOL.
Took whole thing to a high-polish User-Shine, Rainbow 550-Wrapped it, Jimped it, Pink Kydexed it....and Polish-Etched her personal nickname.
I was trying to figure out how to etch it, after I saw Clich's BK9 I knew it was something I wanted to incorporate into this project. I also didnt want to sacrifice the ''Shiny''. I did some thinking, and came out with this technique.
Vick's Vapor rub on everything but the blade-flat on the etch side
Stickers applied to blade
Cold-Blue rubbed all over flat, several coats to ensure even covering
soaked in bleach for ~25 minutes WITH STICKERS STILL ON
then dried, sanded, cleaned same as normal bleach-etch procedure.
It pops, a very defined "Irish Girl'' on a Still polished blade. As the one pic kind of depicts, it will still throw reflections off even on the etched half.
I would like to thank Mighty1 and Greybush for their much appreciated help with materials for this project. Thanks Guys! Mighty's package arrived Literally seconds after I completed sheath...great timing!
Now for final sharpening tonight and shipped in the morning
