Did Buck ever sell a 110 with factory engraving on the bolsters? I just bought one, but wonder if it's aftermarket engraving as it's the first I've ever seen.

Nickel silver or brass - the bolsters are relatively soft and easily engraved... carry one in your pocket with another knife, keys, etc - and you'll soon have a 'custom engraved' knife!

Okay, I had too much caffein - and too quickly - this AM.

Can you post pictures so we can see the knife.

I've had the same question myself. Below are pics of THE DUKE. This is a standard 110 and I believe the custom work was done by The Franklin Mint. The bolsters are not engraved but I believe they are cast peuter. It appears they were added to 110 frame. If anyone has any more info on this knife I would appreciate it.

To the best of my knowledge all of that type of engraving was either outsourced or added after the fact. In addition to the Franklin Mint knife, which I also believe is cast pewter, I do have a 110 that appears to have investment cast acorns and oak leaves in the bolsters. I believe this knife was a special project Buck tried in the late 1970's.
