Special Announcement - ECA 2007 Knife

I've handled the cqc-14 and have a mini cqc-7b. How would compare this one to the current models.

Like, most like this model, different from this model....just to get an idea of size/purpose....stuff like that. Looks nice.

The cost is quite a bit higher and I know it is an exclusive model, but are there any unique features on this knife, which are different than the current models, by that I mean materials, the lock....stuff like that.

Thanks.

That knife is whats called a semi custom.

It has a zero beveled hand ground 154cm blade with a "tumbled" finish rather than one of the
coatings you would get on the production knives. (Most semi customs have a satin belt finish)
The handles are pretty much the same as the production knives but they do tend to have
thicker liners and some softer jumping on the lock etc.

It does look like a nice knife. I like the spearpont EKIs allot,
I also like the coffinish shaped handle. It defo looks like a good one to have.

EKI only post here with info on products and shows by the way, they dont get involved in discusions.

I don't know I am kind of amibivalent about the knife. Just to close to a 7a save for the handle design. Just talking blade design here. The coffin shape may even be a bit better than the 7a or b designed handle. Those are just about perfect for me. I like the finish way better than on the usual stock EKI's though. I am sure they will be scarfed up pretty quickly and become highly colletable depending on the run of knives. Now if that blade was a 7 series handle or HD 7 I might buy two of them! keepem sharp

all the ECA knives have gone up in value, ~ a yr after the 1st came out the P-Tac one, one was listed on BF for sale, was listed for 4 or 5 weeks, i finally made an offer on it and got it for IIRC $100 and a knife worth ~ $100, i rememebr the guy said i was "getting a deal" i had just gotten into emersons and didnt know the ECA P-Tac was zero bevel hand ground among other things, it was certainly a good investment as they run $350 or so now, if ya can find one, IIRC only ~120 made, the ECA knives are as close to an emerson custom as ya can get unless ya get lucky at a knife show and buy one for $550 or pay ~$1K from someone,

the new one seems ok though i'm not just nutz about it, it would be a good investment though if ya buy one and dont carry it, though i did carry my P-Tac some.

I agree. I have a mint HD7 in a satin finish that I have not ever opened or closed even. Sits in my cabinet of the gun case in its box. I am hanging on to that for the next good while. Keepem sharp
